This is Interactive Learning Center / Learning Resource Center's Giya website!
Here, we’re all about supporting both faculty and students in their educational journeys. The name "Giya," which comes from the Binisaya word for "guide," reflects our mission to help you navigate through teaching and learning with ease. Whether it's through training, access to academic resources, or just providing a space to collaborate, we’re here to make it a better experience for you!
Over the past years, the ILC/LRC has been dedicated to implementing a wide range of initiatives to enhance teaching and learning within the university. These initiatives aim to empower faculty members by ensuring they are equipped with the latest teaching strategies, methodologies, and technological tools. Also, the center offers an Academic Wellness Program, which is designed to empower students to excel academically while also equipping them with essential life skills that extend beyond the classroom.
Since the onset of the pandemic, the university has adopted a blended learning approach such as using LMS (Learning Management System) for course delivery and management. The ILC/LRC manages the university’s LMS (Moodle). Aside from providing support and assistance to faculty members and students with their LMS concerns, the center also organizes various activities related to LMS that include orientations and basic training sessions.

In partnership with Ugnayan ng Pahinungod Mindanao, the ILC/LRC offers peer tutorial sessions to provide students with academic support, peer mentorship, and opportunities to build meaningful social connections. These peer tutorials are an integral part of the Academic Wellness Program, which the center has been implementing over the years.

The ILC/LRC is located within EBL (Elias B. Lopez) Hall. Although our office is inside the dormitory, it is open to all constituents of UP Mindanao. If you’re looking for a place to study, we offer comfortable and quiet study areas. We also have lecture rooms available for meetings, classes, and tutorial sessions with complete facilities to support your academic needs.
