MATH 36 Tutorial Session for BSDS Freshmen

We had another successful Math 36 tutorial session with a group of BS Data Science freshies as they prepare for their exams! Studying with friends is not only more fun, but it also keeps you accountable. We thank our partner with this Academic Wellness Program, Ugnayan ng Pahinungod Mindanao, for providing snacks to our learners in every session!

Orientation on Academic Policies for New Teaching Personnel

The orientation on academic policies aimed to familiarize new teaching personnel with essential university policies they must adhere to while teaching. Additionally, there was a session emphasizing our commitment to public service, confidentiality, and democratic values

The orientation was conducted via Zoom last October 9, 2024 with Prof. Annabelle U. Novero, Ph.D, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Prof. Karen Joyce G. Cayamanda, Ph.D, University Registrar, and Atty. Charmaine Valentin, Legal Counsel and Data Protection Officer of the University.

We are delighted to welcome a new group of learners from our recent peer tutorial session on October 7, 2024. The event emphasized the essence and potential of AI in the field of education, led by Dr. Elenita Que, Ph.D., an Associate Professor and Program Coordinator of the Educational Technology Area of the College of Education at UP Diliman.

With the prevalence of AI in the world of academia, it is crucial to teach students on the proper use of this tool while preserving the drive and conviction for honor and excellence in learning. Hence, ILC-LRC will always remain steadfast in delivering students the educational avenue to become technology-literate individuals and holistically competent students.

𝐔𝐏 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐨 𝐈𝐋𝐂-𝐋𝐑𝐂 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫, 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟏𝟗, 𝟐𝟎𝟐4, 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝟏:𝟑𝟎 𝐏𝐌 𝐭𝐨 𝟒:𝟑𝟎 𝐏𝐌, 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐏 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐨 𝐂𝐇𝐒𝐒 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫.

The seminar was graced by the presence of one of UP Mindanao's most esteemed public speakers, Professor Karen Joyce Cayamanda, Ph.D. She is a Professor of the Communication and Media Arts program at the Department of Humanities with 25 years of teaching experience and 18 years of experience as a faculty administrator in different positions. She productively tackled the benefits, dos and don'ts, and effective steps for overcoming public speaking anxiety to maintain a connection with the listening audience.

Along with this, the UP Mindanao ILC-LRC is determined to offer various educational opportunities to keep the students full of learning and to unleash their hidden talents and potential in different fields!
